Moroccan speech community discerns diversity along the geographical distribution from the Nord to the south, Sahara, the landscape knows very large population speak Moroccan Arabic within the west of the country especially in urban space following by Tamazight varieties overlap three part the mountains of Rif, Souss and middle atlas. In addition, the codified languages, classical and French learned by institution.
The country of Morocco celebrates diversity in sociolinguistic forms such as multilingualism, Diglossia, Bilingualism, Code-switching. Sociolinguists notice no offense among ethnic groups. On other hand, in the official talk, language attitude emerged harsh debate concluded the disjunction and disintegration among the use of certain codes on the account of the other. The linguists went to the thoughts that Morocco live in linguistic harmony where each code serve a certain role.
I observed paradoxical attitudes among the participants through investigation. Monolinguals of Tamazight and Arabic found difficulty communication among each other while bilinguals of Tamazight and Moroccan Arabic conducted Amazigh-Arabic conversation easily. In administration aspect, Arabic remain significant side by side with Tamazight. Moreover, there is sort of marginalization of monolingual of Tamazight varieties.
In educational aspect, the language play critical role in the instruction of the children. In rural areas, children drop very often out of the schools because of lack of ability to integrate with the syllabuses and the instructors. Majority argued that syllabuses should have a reform to suit all local culture and enhance the development of the country.
People choose multilingual to balance and preserve the local cultures. In addition, Morocco adopted French as language in which it interacts with the west to assure its future. In later decades, the English has been included in the teach syllabuses. This language has a wide influence internationally as long as it is the lingua franca.
Arabisation was successful to some extant where the primary secondary and high school, administrations and tribunal use Modern Standard Arabic as official language. However, the private sector conducted French instead of Arabic.
This study reflects a sketch of large issue that the intellectual surface discusses often in conferences. The investigation conducted is considered very limited needs more research. Along the way this diversity emerges confusion to the policy-makers. The present situation would not serve the sake of the country rather than plunge it in serious ethnic problems in the future.
